Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam having Chinese roots, while Winston Barrett Munn's family has origins deep within the American South. Olivia was just two years old when her parents divorced. She was raised by both her mother and stepfather who was an United States Air Force member. Her primary residence was Tokyo, Japan, even though the family moved around often. In the years that followed she performed in a number of local theater productions, and then was a model for the Japanese fashion business. Olivia moved from to the United States back to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of being an actor. After a few minor parts, Olivia landed a role after she was cast in the role of Mily Acua on the Hawaii filming of the TV program Beyond the Break 2006 and the receptionist for Rob Schneider. She hosts podcasts "Formula D", "The Daily Nut", and "The Daily Nut". Her passion for surfing is something she's continued following the television series Beyond the Break. Also, she has Black Belt in Taekwondo. In the age of two, her mother got married. She was married an US Air Force serviceman. While the family moved several times, she was primarily educated within Tokyo, Japan, where her stepfather was stationed by the military. She attended her studies at University of Oklahoma, where she earned a degree in journalism. She also minored in Japanese and dramatic arts.
