Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and writer. In her early years, Sara was racially taunted by American citizens of all races. Her confidence began to grow in the ninth grade when she appeared in an audition. She received a lot of praise for her performance. Not only did she gain confidence through the audition however, she also re-evaluate her plans for her career. In 1992 she graduated with her degree from New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 she began her career making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. Her biggest break came with the role of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway production of Spamalot. She won the Tony Award and received great praise for the role. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC the show, she received more recognition. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended show. As an activist, she works tirelessly for LGBT equality.
